Laurent Guyénot, the author of this book, was born in France in 1960. He graduated in 1982 as en engineer from L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées (Paris) and worked a few years in the armament industry in Orlando, Florida, before turning to potery and theology. He obtained a Master's degree in Biblical History in New York Unification Theological Seminary in 1990. In 2009, while teaching English in University of Savoy, he earned a PhD in Medieval Studies in La Sorbonne University (Paris IV). He has published in the fields of history of religions and narrative anthropology. As an investigative journalist, he has also authored the only French study of the psychological, educational and social damage of mass pornography.
Laurent Guyénot, l'auteur de ce texte, est ingénieur diplômé de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (1982). Il a travaillé dans l'industrie de l'armement en Floride, avant de se tourner vers la poterie et la théologie. Il obtient en 1990 un master d'histoire biblique (Unification Theological Seminary, New York, 1990). En 2009, après une brève carrière dans l'édition, puis l'obtention du CAPES d'anglais, il soutient une thèse doctorale en Études Médiévales à Paris IV-Sorbonne (avec félicitations du jury). Avant de s’investir dans cette enquête, il a publié dans les domaines de l’anthropologie narrative et de l'histoire des religions. Egalement journaliste d'investigation, il a écrit la seule enquête en français sur les ravages psychologiques, éducatifs et sociaux de la pornographie de masse.
